SUMMARY:SMART Recovery
DESCRIPTION:Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART Recovery) is a 
 60-minute weekly meeting held at the Fellowship Centre every Friday at 1
 :30 PM. Based on psychological approaches\, SMART Recovery was establish
 ed in 1994 in the USA to help those seeking an evidenced-informed altern
 ative to 12-Step addiction recovery support. The Fellowship Centre curre
 ntly hosts the only in-person SMART addiction recovery meeting in northe
 rn and central Alberta.\nIn a group context\, a specially trained SMART 
 Recovery facilitator helps people with substance dependencies or problem
  behaviours to: 1) build and maintain motivation to recover\, 2) cope wi
 th urges and cravings\, 3) manage thoughts\, feelings and behaviours\, a
 nd 4) live a balanced life. A Canadian Certified Counsellor completed th
 e SMART Recovery Training for Professionals and facilitates the SMART Re
 covery meeting held at the Fellowship Centre. If you cannot attend in-pe
 rson\, join the online Zoom meeting at the same time. ZOOM MEETING ID 81
